چکیده

A method for the determination of 24 organochlorine pesticides by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with negative-ion chemical-ionization (NICI) using programmable temperature vaporizer (PTV)-based large volume injection (LVI) is described. The ion source temperature was determined to be 150 °C for the optimized NICI-selected ion monitoring (SIM) conditions. PTV inlet parameters were also optimized. The sensitivities of the pesticides by splitless-GC-NICI-MS were approximately 7.8–360 times higher than those of the pesticides by splitless-GC-EI-MS. The sensitivities of the pesticides by LVI-GC-NICI-MS were over 80 times higher than those of the pesticides by spiltless-GC-NICI-MS. This method was applied to the determination of the pesticides in river water using micro liquid–liquid extraction as sample preparation. The recoveries of the pesticides from a river water sample spiked with standards at 2 ng l21 and 20 ng l21were 75–111% (RSD, 2.9–15%) and 92–105% (RSD, 0.5–5.6%), respectively. The methodical detection limits ranged from 0.004 to 2.2 ng l21

Accumulation and distribution of persistent organochlorine pesticides and their contamination of surface water and sediments of the Sabarmati River, India

Pesticides are chemical substances used to control pests in an effort to increase crop production and quality, and food storage. The levels of pesticides in different environmental compartments, such as water, soil, agricultural foods, and products of animal origin, have become a relevant issue. In this study, the levels of pesticide residues in Sabarmati River of Gujarat, India, have been inve...

Trace level determination of phenols as pentafluorobenzyl derivatives by gas chromatography-negative-ion chemical ionization mass spectrometry.

A method for the trace level determination of 11 phenols as pentafluorobenzyl (PFB) derivatives by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with negative-ion chemical ionization (NICI) is described. First, the conditions for the PFB derivatisation of phenols were optimized and were found to be reaction temperature 80 degrees C and reaction time 5 h. Second, the detection limits using select...

Determination of 17 kinds of banned organochlorine pesticides in water by activated carbon fiber-solid phase microextraction coupled with GC-MS.

Activated carbon fiber (ACF) as extraction fiber for solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and its application for the analysis of banned organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) were investigated. Firstly, ACF was activated by different concentration of zinc chloride, which indicated that ACF activated by 60% zinc chloride had a reasonable specific surface area, pore volume and pore distribution. Secondl...

ON-LINE SOLID-PHASE EXTRACTION AND LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY/PARTICLE BEAM-MASS SPECTROMETRY FOR DEGRADATION STUDIES OF SOME POLAR PESTICIDES IN WATER

An on-line automated method for photodegradation studies of isoproturon, diuron, atrazine, fenitrothion, and metoxuron by means of liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) with particle beam (PB) interface is described. Surface water samples were first spiked with 50 µg/l of each pesticide and then exposed to the radiation of the medium-pressure mercury lamp. Next, in regular intervals o...
